Rendell and GOP Talking Smack

I have limited access to PCN this afternoon (somehow related to psychotic cats and a lot of cranberry juice -- trust me, you don't want to know) and just caught the governor talking about the budget impasse. A new (or previously unknown to me) sticking point is raising the debt ceiling. Rendell did not lay blame at the feet of the GOP but when asked about that he said he was being nice. In a similar vein he said they didn't start soon enough and he didn't push hard enough. Ed had his tough guy face on. I wouldn't want to tangle with him when he's in this mood. He did say both sides were close on a number of issues but declined to say how close or what issues. DeWeese took the podium and said a few things.

GOP leadership got their turn and blasted Rendell and the Democrats, saying new issues kept being added to the table. They referred to state workers being held hostage and their outrage was palpable though it came across to me as a bit tinny.

(Not all these groups have something up relating to the budget but some do and I'm too lazy to sort through right now.)

PCN now playing a 1954 video of Levittown. Hope something more interesting in happening behind the scenes.
